Ocular Tumors

The book covers practically all tumors of eye and adnexa. Chapters are contributed by well- established ocular oncologists of India. It describes retinoblastoma, malignant melanoma and lymphoma in some detail while covering tumors of lids and conjunctiva briefly. Separate chapters are devoted to the pathology of retinoblastoma, genetics of retinoblastoma and malignant melanoma. Each chapter is profusely illustrated. The book provides state-of-the-art knowledge needed to diagnose ocular cancers in the early stage and to treat them effectively.

The book meets the curriculum of postgraduate studies of the Indian Universities. It will be very useful for students who are preparing for MD, MS, DNB and FRCS examinations. The book will assist practicing ophthalmologists in early diagnosis and treatment of ocular tumors.

Autor

Dr H V Nema has post-graduated from GR Medical College, Gwalior, India. He did his fellowship from the University of Manchester, England. He is a former Professor and Head, Department of Ophthalmology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He had been teaching ophthalmology to the undergraduate and postgraduate students at the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi more than 30 years. Dr Nema has a distinguished academic career and is known for teaching, research and publications. He had served as a consultant editor and advisory editor to the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, Afro-Asian Journal of Ophthalmology and Indian Journal of Optometry. He has many publications in national and international journals and authored and edited 24 books. Dr Nema has delivered guest lectures in many universities. He has served as an honorary general secretary and president of UP State Ophthalmological Societyand was conferred Life Time Achievement Award by the society. Dr Nitin Nema is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Sri Aurobindo Medical College and PG Institute, Indore, India. He is an experienced vitreoretinal surgeon. After his post-graduation from the Department of Ophthalmology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, India, he did his fellowship from Aravind Eye Hospital and PG Institute, Madurai, India. Additionally, he gained clinical and research experience from the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was awarded a fellowship by the All India Ophthalmological Society to work on a research project on uveitis at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, India. He was also awarded Dr Mohanlal Gold Medal for the best paper by the UP State Ophthalmological Society. He has published and presented many research papers and co-authored the Textbook of Ophthalmology,  Anatomy of the Eye and Adnexa and Manual of Ophthalmology, and co-edited 19 books.
