Essam A. El Toukhy is Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of Oculoplasty service, at Cairo University, Egypt. Professor El Toukhy is Director of the National Eye Institute and Rod El Farag Eye Bank Egypt, Head of Examination Committee, Council of Arab Board of Ophthalmology, Director of the Medical Education Center,Cairo University. Professor El Toukhy has published several books on Oculoplasty & reconstructive Surgery and authored many book chapters on this topic. He has operated, lectured and trained in over 30 countries and has served as Advisor on trachoma to the World Health Organization. He organizes a yearly "Oculoplasty from A-Z" course for residents and fellows from around the world since 2006.
