Autorenporträt
As a student at Leeds, Jo specialised in mediaeval English, the language that developed from the Anglo Saxons and the Normans who defeated them at the Battle of Hastings. Before she became a writer, Jo taught children and young people in London schools from age three to 19.This book brings together three worlds that fascinated Jo: the real historic world of the Anglo Saxons which the Normans brushed aside after they invaded; the myth worlds of the Anglo Saxons and the Celts before them; and fantasy worlds of authors such as JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Philip Pullman and JK Rowling. Jo was also a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and liked to joke that, unlike Buffy, her hero Wulf doesn't have to save the world 'a lot' - once is enough. This is the second of Jo's books to be published. Her first, 'Odd Fox Out', is a thrilling adventure about a fox who decides, rather inconveniently, that he can no longer eat meat. It is also published by SilverWood Books and available from booksellers and online.
