Autorenporträt
Edmund Keeley is a novelist and critic as well as translator of Greek poetry. He lives in Princeton, New Jersey. Born in Crete in 1911, Odysseus Elytis was one of the most prominent poets of the Greek resistance during the Nazi occupation. The Nobel Prize was awarded to him in 1979;he died in Athens in 1995. Philip Sherrard (1922-1995) lived on the island of Evia. His selected poems, In the Sign of the Rainbow, was published in 1996.
