Autorenporträt
Having been involved in fly fishing for over fifty years and an author of four previous books, Les Hawkins admits he knows a lot about trout fishing but speculates constantly about the behavior of trout. In his latest book, he reminisces about fishing and fishing trips, puts forward thoughts and ideas, includes few fishing tips, and invites the reader to debate his theories. He is a life member of Greenwell's Fly Fishing Club and a life member of the Commercial Club Fishing Club, having served terms of president in both. He was secretary of Recfish Australia for nine years and president of the Australian Freshwater Fishermen's Assembly during its operational years. In conjunction with the Continuing Education Centre (now TAFE) and Greenwell's Club, he taught fly fishing for twenty-five years. Married with four children, eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren, he resides in Albury-Wodonga, right close to all the great fly fishing areas. He is a justice of peace and well and truly retired, which allows ample time for fishing and his passion for dressing trout flies. His previous books include the following . Basic Flyfishing (1993) . Trouting Tales (1996) . Basic Flyfishing Revised Edition (2003) . Great Australian Fly-fishing Stories (2006) published on 2 X CD in 2007
