Autorenporträt

Mary grew up in the forested communities of Humboldt and Trinity Counties of Northern California. As a child, she raised an orphaned raccoon and successfully released him back into the wild. Her career in children's literature focuses on nature and environmental education. A Gelett Burgess Children's Book Award recipient (illustrator Percy Learns to Fly, ABTA Publications 2013) and California Federation of Chaparral Poets honoree, she has worked in photography, education, publishing, liturgical design, and natural resource conservation advocacy. www.maryalivingston.com
