This book, consisting of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion, proposes the possibility of reconciling oil exploitation in Virunga National Park with the development of ecological activities. It presents a way of exploiting oil while taking account of environmental requirements, the vectors of sustainable development.Any reader will realize the importance of exploiting oil in this part of the Rdc. This importance is due to the fact that this activity is only likely to affect 29% of the total surface area, while providing $1,800,000,000 in minimum revenue.Following the conciliation mechanism proposed in the book, the Park's economic value, estimated at 48,900,000, could be increased by revitalizing tourism, whose value is currently nil thanks to dividends from oil revenues. There is also the possibility of creating a national cooperative of Lake Edouard fishermen to increase local production, and so on. In the same vein, it should be emphasized that oil revenues will enable the development of the provinces concerned, in accordance with Ordinance Law n°13/001 of 23/02/2013.
