Shirley Ann McGarrell, Ph.D. (1939-2022), was passionate about education, words, and people. In the pursuit of these passions she joyously served in many roles: teacher, dean of women, English department chairperson, university administrator, public speaker, and more. In all these roles, Dr. McGarrell particularly enjoyed encouraging and empowering others along the journey of life. She is remembered for her twinkling eyes, sparkling smile, and generous spirit. This is her ninth book.
