Peter-Ben Smit holds professorships in Old Catholic theology at the Universities of Bern and Utrecht and in contextual biblical interpretation at Vrije Universiteit (Amsterdam) and is a research associate at the Faculty of Theology, University of Pretoria. His publications include: Old Catholic and Philippine Independent Ecclesiologies in History. The Catholic Church in Every Place (Brill, 2011) Tradition in Dialogue. The Concept of Tradition in International Anglican Bilateral Dialogues (VU University Press, 2012).
