About the author: Growing up in a typical urban family unit, Dr. Madinah K. Wakil quickly found her place amongst a household of seven energetic girls. Being the middle child presented a unique set of challenges for her to find her identity at an early age. Madinah learned to appreciate reading and writing and used her early experiences as a platform to create short stories and novels, which gave meaning and purpose to her life. Madinah's imagination often become a dominating part of her social adjustment period and helped her appreciate the world of creativity. Madinah is a mother of three adult children, a grandmother and native of St. Louis, MO. She earned a doctorate degree in education from St. Louis University and worked as an educator/mentor in both public and private schools for more than 30 years. She is the author of a novel "Gamble Street", a children's novel "Oliver, Locked Inside this Book" and a book of poetry, "Three Minds Interwined."
