My name is Edwin C. Rivera, aged seventy-six. I'm an artist and wood carver. I have been drawing and painting from a very young age. I studied art in junior high and high school. I studied six months of illustration and advertising art at night after graduation. I also studied art from a corresponding school for two years and graduated with honors. I entered an international art contest with students from USA and Canada through this corresponding school and received a ribbon for second place in watercolors. I published a coloring and storybook for children in York, Pennsylvania, based on a cartoon dinosaur character named Dingles, the Baby Dinosaur. I wrote a story and illustrated a second book, which is entitled Olivia and the Red Box from the Beach. At the present time, I enjoy doing cartooning, drawing, painting, and carving. I work in all mediums of paints, pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, and acrylic and oil paints. I also received two ribbons in a wood carving contest. I was a member of the Yorkarvers Club of York.
