John Kendrick Bangs (May 27, 1862 - January 21, 1922) was an American author, humorist, editor and satirist. He was born in Yonkers, New York. His father Francis N. Throughout his career, Bangs contributed to various publications and created many works of fiction, essays, and short stories. His most notable works include whimsical tales and humorous fiction, with a notable interest in the supernatural. Bangs' blend of humor and satire made him a distinctive voice in late 19th and early 20th-century American literature. He passed away on January 21, 1922, at the age of 59, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
