About Me I am Aa'Shauntae Chapman, a poet whose words are a phoenix rising from the ashes of my trials. I embarked on my poetic journey in 2021, turning to the power of verse as a sanctuary from the tumultuous grip of anxiety that once confined me to the walls of my own home. It was in the silent whispers of my pen that I discovered a wellspring of resilience, pouring my soul onto the pages of a journal that soon became my daily confidante. My writing emerged not just as a lifeline for myself, but as a beacon for others. I believe that God has imbued my writing with the power to move and resonate deeply, transforming my poetry into a vessel for the unheard voices yearning to be acknowledged and understood. In my mid-20s, my journey has been anything but linear. After stepping into the halls of Aurora University in 2017, I soon set out on a path less trodden to uncover the mosaic of opportunities life had to offer. My quest has taken me from place to place, through the undulating terrain of emotions, seeking and shaping the life I yearn for. The pandemic era, while stripping so much from the world, paradoxically gifted me with profound self-discovery and a newfound voice. This book is a testament to my growth, my resilience, and my unwavering hope to become a beacon for others. Through my poetry, I invite you to listen, reflect, and find your own voice amidst the echoes of mine.
