Claudia Breland is a writer, lecturer and researcher in Western Washington. She began her family history research in 1974 and became a professional genealogist in 2009. Research on the families in this book involved multiple trips to the North Carolina State Archives in Raleigh to examine original records. She lives in Gig Harbor, Washington with her husband and son. This is her fifth book.
