Skyhorse Publishing, as well as our Sports Publishing imprint, are proud to publish a broad range of books for readers interested in sports--books about baseball, pro football, college football, pro and college basketball, hockey, or soccer, we have a book about your sport or your team. Whether you are a New York Yankees fan or hail from Red Sox nation; whether you are a die-hard Green Bay Packers or Dallas Cowboys fan; whether you root for the Kentucky Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, UCLA Bruins, or Kansas Jayhawks; whether you route for the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, or Los Angeles Kings; we have a book for you. While not every title we publish becomes a New York Times bestseller or a national bestseller, we are committed to publishing books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked by other publishers and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.
Autorenporträt
Don Kopriva, a veteran editor and author, has been writing about Big Ten sports for more than 40 years. A 1971 Michigan State graduate, Kopriva served as manager of the main press center for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and later was an assistant managing editor for the Chicago Sun-Times. He is also the author of Coming Back Strong, which profiles elite distance runners and relates their stories of injuries and recovery. He is managing principal of Lisle, Illinoisbased WriteOn Communications Solutions. Jim Mott, the late Wisconsin sports information director, spent his entire adult life in Madison and had encyclopedic knowledge of all things Wisconsin. His remarkable recall of Badger sports events, coaches, and athletes helped immeasurably with this book. Mott, a UW graduate, was assistant SID for 12 years and then directed the sports information office until his retirement in 1990, when he was inducted into the UW Athletic Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2009. Elroy Hirsch was a former UW football player and the Director of Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for almost 20 years. He passed away in 2004. Barry Alvarez is the former University of WisconsinMadison football coach (1990-2005) and has been the Director of Athletics for eight years.
