Autorenporträt
For over a decade, Jessica Portner has reported on children's issues such as school safety, teen pregnancy, and AIDS education in schools. She received numerous awards and citations for the series upon which this book was based, including first prize from the Education Writers Association Journalism Awards, Meritorious Journalism at the University of Maryland, and a special commendation from the American Psychiatric Association. Ms. Portner's work has appeared in the Washington Post and the Christian Science Monitor. She is currently a reporter with the San Jose Mercury - News.
