After living twenty-four long years with Myasthenia Gravis, a disease that doctors told me was incurable, in April of 1990 I found the bible verse in Hebrews 11:6 to be true, "...[God] is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him." He healed me!In 2012, I needed God's healing power again when I was challenged with a diagnosis of breast cancer. I did not know what to expect. He healed me!In 2012, I needed God's healing power again when I was challenged with a diagnosis of breast cancer. I did not know what to expect. I did not feel afraid after the diagnosis, but, I remember saying to myself, "I believe in God! God will take care of me. Look back at what He has already done in your."God had shown me his grace so many times before, when I saw him heal my husband, my two sons, and my daughter. He proved to us again and again that His Word is true. I am living to tell others that God can and will heal you.
Autorenporträt
Barbara Jean Duff Brannon was born on December 19, 1951 in Gastonia, North Carolina. Loving life, Barbara was always in the mix of things. As a youth she enjoyed roller skating, dancing, going to movies, and babysitting. In high school she participated in drama class and even had a short career on the girl's basketball team.Having family in New Haven, Connecticut also, Barbara spent a good amount of time there as well. It was in Connecticut that she played in the ocean and enjoyed what has grown to be a life-long love of sea food.At fifteen years of age Barbara began to have very serious and difficult physical problems. She experienced weakness in her limbs and had what appeared to be fainting spells. She began to spend many days in the hospital as doctors took her through numerous test, which eventually lead to a diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis. Doctors said the disease was incurable and gave her a 50/50 chance of surviving.Barbara's life passion is caring for children. She raised her nephew (who was born blind and mute) for three years until she married and moved to Oklahoma. After marriage she continued to care for children. She once had a home day care where she cared for children of neighbors, family members, church members, and friends. After staying home and raising her own three children (two sons, and a daughter), she took a full time position in June of 1995 as a child care provider and family assistant and has been employed for over twenty-two years. Not through living, Barbara enjoys spending time with, texting, and video chatting with her six grandchildren. She travels, enjoys reading, and watching mysteries like Perry Mason and Law and Order. At church she has been involved in several positions such as Choir Director, Pre-School Sunday School Teacher, VBS Teacher, Kitchen Coordinator, and Head Deaconess. In the community she volunteered as a Mentor with Mother to Mother, a program to help young mothers, and was a Child Advocate for twenty years with Oklahoma's Foster Care Review Board. In 2012 Barbara was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She did not let the diagnosis get the best of her because she had a faith in the same God that had brought her through so many other trials in life. She was healed of Myasthenia Gravis in 1990, so she depended on the same God to heal again. He did; and she lives to tell of the grace and strength he gave her along the way.Barbara and her husband Larry have been married for forty-five years and continue to reside in Oklahoma City.
