Ronnie Johnson is the youngest child of the Johnson household, a place that holds a mixture of both adopted and biological children. Being the baby causes her to form an inevitable dependency on people. Reading this novel takes you through a journey of her childhood, allowing you to witness the good and bad experiences she encounters, which later merges to form the foundation of her adulthood. After encountering a life altering event in her mid-teen years, Ronnie almost self-destructs, and is forced to seek help. After realizing the painful truth that there's not always someone there to bail you out, Ronnie finally learns to depend on herself, though not so much that she forgets to still count on others, at times. While doing so, she battles to rediscover her identity and to define her purpose in life.
