Opportunities are immense but the challenges must be encountered legally and socially for developing its acceptability. In this regard an attempt has been made to analyze the development of online banking in India considering its acceptance to potential customers as well as to explore the major challenges associated with the development of online banking in India. Acceptability, opportunities and challenges of online banking has been studied with the help of sample survey through selected questionnaire. The study has given a clear picture on the level of acceptability of online banking and has identified different concern areas which must be taken into consideration to move India towards cashless economy.

Der Autor ist Assistenzprofessor für Handel am Bidhan Chandra College, Rishra, und ehemaliger Dozent am St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. Er hat an der Universität von Kalkutta promoviert und einen MBA in Finanzwesen absolviert. Während seiner mehr als 11-jährigen Lehrtätigkeit hat er ein UGC Minor Research Project abgeschlossen und zahlreiche Forschungspublikationen veröffentlicht.
