This book is about the developmental history of a freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium lamarrei (Edwards, 1837), which is common in the Indian Subcontinent. Habitat, food and morphological characters of this prawn are given, along with the sexual dimorphism, reproductive parameters and developmental phases. Relationship between the bottom type, aquatic plants and population growth of this species are provided. The effect of two commonly used agrochemicals on the survivability of eggs and population are also described.
