The main objective of this study is the evaluation of operating performances and levels of services of urban public transport in Kerman, Iran. The present study was specifically designed to determine the operating performance indicators and to define quality of service indicators in Kerman Bus Network. This study also set out to establish the level of satisfaction from passenger's point of view. Based on the findings of this study, public transport operators and policy makers may integrate corrective actions in their strategic plans and measures that can better tackle users' perception and thus increase the number of transit passengers. The results of this study indicate most of determined operating performance and quality of services in Kerman bus operation are out of standard and not acceptable which shows the operators and decision makers in Kerman bus organization can not satisfy their users with the current facilities, infrastructures and system management . This research has important implication for future practices by decision makers and bus operators to improve quality of the services for greater passengers' satisfaction in cities with similar bus network specifications.

Tooraj Najafabadipour graduated from Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman, Iran, with B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering Department in 2006.
