Autorenporträt
Ludwig M. Heindl is Professor and Head of the Oculoplastic and Orbital Service and the Ophthalmic Oncology Center, Department of Ophthalmology, University of Cologne, Cologne, Germany. He graduated from the Erlangen Medical School in 2006 and received training in clinical ophthalmology and ophthalmic pathology at the Department of Ophthalmology, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. Since November 2011 he served as a senior consultant in general ophthalmology, ophthalmic oncology and ophthalmic pathology at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Cologne, Germany. In January 2013 he became Head of the Oculoplastic and Orbital Service as well as head of the Ophthalmic Oncology Center, being responsible for patient care, teaching and research in both fields. Sebastian Siebelmann is an Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, University Hospital of Cologne and Ophthalmologist and in Solingen, Germany. He clinically specializesin diseases of the anterior segment of the eye, particularly the cornea, cataract and refractive surgery. He also works scientifically on the topics of multimodal imaging of the anterior segment of the eye and the topic of digitalization/artificial intelligence in image processing. He has been awarded a number of research grants and research awards. In 2019 he was awarded as Young Physician Leader, he is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Eucornea and Member of the Board of the Eucornea, the European Society of Cornea and Ocular Surface Disease Specialists.
