Taguchi and response surface methods are two of the many examples of parametric design techniques that can be used for this purpose. This book discusses the utilization of these methods in CDU optimization.

S.Faizan Ali graduated with a BE degree in Chemical Engineering from NED University, Pakistan (2010). He later joined the Process Systems Engineering Research Group for the optimization of a crude distillation unit at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia and subsequently received his MSc Degree (2014).
