Optimization of gas pipelines simulation determines the optimum conditions within the network by a simplified representation of the real-world conditions of a gas network. Optimization aims to determine the flow capacity of the pipeline, the optimum gas properties, or the minimum cost of operations. This book looks at optimizing the gas flow and pressure along the pipes and junctions between pipes (nodes), given initial parameters of demand or load and pressure at the sources for the network. The networks were modelled with the flow equations, simplified with matrix representation, and solved with Newton loop and nodal method, to determine the feasibility of the initial network parameters, which include source pressure and demand. A choke was added in the first network which was solved with the newton loop method and a compressor was present in the second network which were optimized with the newton loop method and modified newton method which were written in matlab, results fromthe modified newton loop method are close to those obtained from pipsim software. From the simulation optimized gas flow and pressure were obtained which meets the gas demands.
