This study is concerned with the influence of mechanical vibration in the solidification process. According to the literature review, Solidification process plays main role in increasing the mechanical properties of the material. From implementation of mechanical vibration technique in solidification process it enhances the mechanical properties by influencing the casting quality of the material from reducing the grain size and gives more homogenous microstructure. In present scenario, most of the industries aim perfection where the number of defective product in casting must be reduced to zero and to enhance the mechanical properties. In the present experimental work, the effect of mechanical mould vibration during solidification of A356 alloy was investigated to understand the improvement in microstructure and mechanical properties of casting. The casting has been prepared in a shell mould casting. The frequency of the casting process was 50Hz. The experimental result showed increase in the grain refinement and remarkable improvement in hardness with the help of mould vibration as casting.
