This book deals with a serious issue of burden upon environment due to modern industrial manufacturing processes. With environmental awareness increasing with every passing day, the industry is seeking for more tehcnologies to improve the sustainability of all manufacturing processes. Minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) has been an integral part of sustainable manufacturing process over the past decade. This book aims at upgrading the MQL process to the best possible extent by making suitable additions to the process. With this aim in mind, a Ranque Hilsch vortex tube (RHVT) has been introduced into the MQL process. Moreover, a comprehensive study with addition of nano particles has been done. The study has been performed in three separate phases. A sustainability assessment model has been created and all the cooling techniques compared. It has been shown that the MQL technique upgraded with a vortex tube as well as nano particles leads to highest sustainability index, thus arriving at a significant conclusion from all the three phases regarding effectiveness of the developed cooling process with improved results and lesser stress on environment.
