While the Nano-particles are absorbed, they should act in the way the ordinary products do. However, the absorption process should not be identical with that of the ordinary forms as their different physico-chemical characteristics in the GI fluids may interact with the gastric and intestinal emptying times. This may in turn affect the time needed for them to reach the peak concentration in the blood as well as the highest concentrations achieved. The aim of the present study was to discover the blood concentrations of iron after oral administration of nano particles of iron oxide. Rabbit was used as an experimental model as the size of the animal allowed serial blood collection. It is just an initiative to encourage researchers to investigate the kinetics of nano products as differences with ordinary substances may affect the therapeutic and toxic effects of substances used in medicine and biology.
