GVHD is a frequent complication of bone marrow transplant, with a high morbidity attributable to oral lesions that must be differentiated from other infections and autoimmune conditions occurring in oral mucosa. Interaction between hemato oncology and stomatology is needed for timely diagnosis and treatment of oral complications, and preventive intervention programs. Patients with history of oral cGVHD are at risk for number of late complications. In conclusion, oral cGVHD is a frequent and potential serious complication after allogenic HCT.
