Oral giant cell lesions are a diverse collection of lesions that are poorly understood. In recent years, clinical, histological, and notably ultrastructural investigations have focused on these lesions. The presence of multinucleated large cells detected on a histological examination is what gives the giant cell lesions their name. Most clinicians find it difficult to diagnose many oral cavity lesions because of their unusual prevalence. Numerous lesions of the oral cavity, including those that are cystic, metabolic, osteodystrophic, microbial, tumours, and lesions that resemble tumours, have recognisable giant cell lesions, which simplifies the diagnosis and research of these diseases. The author of this book has made an effort to categorise the common giant cell lesions of the oral cavity, providing a brief account of their general characteristics, clinical outline, histological and diagnostic features, as well as their radiographic characteristics, which may aid students and clinicians in having a better understanding of the lesions regardless of their frequency as well as in developing a better prognosis and treatment strategy.
