In day-to-day clinical practice Medical practitioners and Dental surgeons often encounter a wide spectrum of oral mucosal alterations. One such pathological condition is Oral Submucous Fibrosis. Oral Sub Mucous Fibrosis (OSMF) is a chronic disease and a well recognized potentially malignant condition of the oral cavity characterized by inflammation and a progressive fibrosis of the lamina propria and deeper connective tissues.
