Saman Warnakulasuriya is Professor Emeritus at King's College London and has been Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Oral Cancer since 2005. He is a Past President of the British Dental Association (Metropolitan Branch). Dr. Warnakulasuriya has served on several expert working groups of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) to evaluate carcinogenicity of substances to humans. He has delivered numerous keynote lectures at international Oral Medicine, Pathology, and Oncology conferences and was on the organizing committee and co-chaired the Global Oral Cancer Forum in New York in 2016. He is a global expert on the epidemiology and risk factors on oral cancer, developed the nomenclature of oral potentially malignant disorders, and has authored more than 300 scientific articles as well as three books, including most recently the Springer book Textbook on Oral Cancer: Prevention, Diagnosis and Management. He is a member of the editorial boardsof Oral Oncology, Oral Diseases and Clinical Oral Investigations. Dr. Warnakulasuriya has received an OBE from Her Majesty the Queen for services to Medicine and was awarded the IADR's Distinguished Scientist Awards for Oral Medicine & Pathology (2015) and Global Oral Health Research (2022). He is a Fellow of King's College London. Kannan Ranganathan MDS, MS, PhD is Professor and Consultant in the Department of Oral Pathology at the Ragas Dental College in Chennai , President, Asian Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Secretary of the International Association of Oral Pathologists. He obtained his BDS and MDS from The Tamilnadu Government Dental College, Chennai in 1987 and 1990 respectively. He obtained his Masters in Oral pathology from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA in 1996 and passed the Fellowship examination of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology in 1996. He obtained his PhD - on Oral Submucous Fibrosis,from The Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai, in 2010. He was conferred Best Teacher Award - for perpetuating academic excellence by the Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University in 2011. He was conferred the fellowship of the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (IAOMP) in 2010 and was the the President of IAOMP (2015-2016). Dr. Ranganathan is a well experienced teacher in Oral Oncology, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine, has around 200 publications to his credit and has contributed enormously to international literature on those topics in research publications and as editor or chapter author in textbooks.
