As part of the collection "Cities of Algeria", we begin this series of books Rphotos, concerning the historical cities of our country, by this one dedicated to the capital of Western Algeria: Oran. Visited and praised by many national and foreign admirers and panegyrists, it remains a city cherished by its children. It is commonly called "Wahran El Bahia", in the sense of Oran the Radiant. Certainly, for its rich past, Oran receives visitors from all over the country and foreign tourists. Moreover, it offers them all the aspects of a modern city, open to the sea and to the region of the former Oranie, a gateway to all Algeria, from the Zianid princes to modern times. Considered as the second city of Algeria, after the political capital Algiers, Oran is, in the eyes of specialists, a city in perpetual social, cultural and tourist transformation. This great change, recorded these last years, favors the theory of the city's development.
