This is a must read text for students and tutors in organic agriculture. It answers the following questions among others; what is organic food and why is it safe? What is the difference between organic and non organic foods? What factors affect local markets for organic products? What role do local market outlets such as supermarkets play in the growing need for certified organic foods? The book combines development, trade and consumer need analysis to blend agriculture in developing countries and the need to adopt safety in both growing and consumption of organic foods.
