Evaluation of the efficacy of the different organic manures on the performance of cabbage and soil properties was done at farmer's field of Phulbari, Chitwan, Nepal. Poultry manure, improved FYM, biogas slurry compost, goat manure, vermicompost and Nasabike manure were used as organic manure treatments and compared chemical fertilizer treatment. Experimental result showed, the highest number of outer leaves per plant, the highest plant height, stem diameter and marketable yield was in poultry manure treatment and highest postharvest life in Nasabike manure. The highest change in soil pH was in poultry manure treatment and the small change of soil pH in chemical fertilizer treatment. The higher degree of change in organic matter percentage, soil nitrogen and soil phosphorous was observed in Nasabike manure treatment. The highest B-C ratio was in chemical fertilizer treatment followed by poultry manure treatment. Though the chemical fertilizer produced the high B-C ratio, it is notsustainable for long run and it deteriorates the soil properties, so locally available organic manures may become the possible option for increasing the soil fertility and productivity in the long run.
