The monograph examines organic sector development from the managerial point of view on different levels linking organic production to sustainable development, green economy and corporate social responsibility, environmental protection and food quality and safety issues; discussing innovations in agriculture, exploring the concept of living labs regarding organic production, consumers trust and sustainable development; investigating marketing innovations through alternative food networks and community-supported agriculture, as well as organic entrepreneurship issues; proposing new approaches to organic conversion and underlining the significance of the very early steps and risk assessments; offering unified questionnaires for making investigations on the different levels of sector development; examining the opportunities of the integration of organic with other economic sectors, and tourism in particular; accenting risk management in organic production as a complex issue embracingrisk assessments, risk planning and risk communications; and establishing Organic Development Index (ODI).
