The OD concept has drawn the attention of the cooperators in African region that has, therefore, necessitated the researchers to do something to learn and endeavor to influence not only the cooperative movement but the institutions of higher learning that have crafted a curriculum of OD in their syllabuses. The big question that the authors of this volume would what to ask is; what can we, therefore, learn from Organization Development Interventions (ODI) in the cooperative development from the chapters of this book? The aim of OD is to increase the effectiveness of the cooperative organization. This can be achieved by developing the human factor in organizations. It is, however, not enough to focus on human attitudes only, because there are other factors or obstacles that can obviously slow down the progress, for instance; socio-economic structures and traditional methods of work, which are ordinarily out of step with modern life. It is, therefore, of importance to relate OD to structures and processes of the cooperative organizations.
