Mahamadou SANDA arbeitete zunächst für das Landwirtschaftsministerium und später als Betreuer an der Fakultät für Agrarwissenschaften der Universität Niamey. Er unterrichtete als freier Mitarbeiter an zwei Instituten in Maradi sowie an der Universität und dem Institut Supérieur de Santé in Diffa.
