Previous research seems to indicate that organizational socialization and personal change are multidimensional concepts. Research on both concepts is far from conclusive. Both process and content models of organizational socialization are discussed. Research on personal change with regard to job novelty and role innovation is discussed. The present study employs the same sample of participants measured twice for organizational socialization and personal change levels. Personal change was treated as a unidimensional concept. Results suggest that there are significant decreases in language and politics subscales (p0.01) in the summer period and a slight increase in personal change over the summer period (p0.10). A positive correlation was reported for all the organizational socialization subscales and personal change. Possible explanations for the study s findings and measurement issues, and implications for future research are discussed.
