Joseph H. Spear is Associate Professor of Sociology at James Madison University. His research interests are complex organizations, sociology of science and technology, and sociological theory. He regularly teaches his department's undergraduate sociology or organizations course, as well as courses on environmental sociology, sociology of science and technology, and the development of sociological theory.
