Mladen ¿erni was born in 1958 in Pula, Croatia. He graduated a high school in Zagreb and a college in Rijeka holding a degree in Maritime Management for Transport and Port. The author worked for an airline; was the financial director at the Port of Pula and the director of the Port Authority of Pula. The author has a keen interest in history.
