Although prior to the formationof the EastmanWind Ensemble there had been a marked increase in thenumber oforiginal pieces written for wind band, the latterhalf of the 1950squalifies as the next milestone in wind band historydue to asignificant increase in the amount of original musicwritten for thewind band.
