Clinical photography in Orthodontics was not paid much attention until recent years. Now with more emphasis on the achievement of balanced facial harmony and smile esthetics, in addition to the traditional orthodontic goals of a well aligned and functional dentition, the need for proper clinical photographic records of Orthodontic patients has become essential for proper treatment planning and follow up. There has also always been the need for photographic records for research and publication purposes, and for lectures and teaching presentations. Also, the growing importance of the need for such records for medico-legal reasons cannot be over emphasized. In this book, therefore, the techniques, equipment needed, rules for capturing, processing and publishing the photographs, standard guidelines and criteria for photography in orthodontic practice is given.
