Federico Hernández-Alfaro specialized in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Barcelona, Spain. After receiving his PhD in 2003, he became a diplomat of the European Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2005. He is currently Full Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC), Barcelona, Spain. There, he is also co-director of the International Diploma in Orthognathic Surgery and Surgical Orthodontics and director of the Practical Cadaver Course in Orthognathic Surgery. He is also Director at Maxillofacial Institute in Teknon Medical Center with his practice fully dedicated to orthognathic surgery. Professor Hernández-Alfaro has numerous publications in books and journals to his credit. Adaia Valls Ontañón received her PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain, and completed a residency in Maxillofacial Surgery at Vall d'Hebron Hospital (Barcelona). She currently works as a private physician at the Institute of Maxillofacial Surgery of the Teknon Medical Center and at the public Sant Joan de Deu University Hospital. She is also an associate professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, coordinator of the International Diploma in Orthognathic Surgery and Surgical Orthodontics, and co-director of the Practical Cadaver Course in Orthognathic Surgery at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya.
