Jose Marti was the one who laid the foundation for the liberation of Cuba from Spanish domination and was the seed for the struggle for the liberation of the Latin American continent. Marty was born in Havana, Cuba, on January 28, 1853, the only son of Mariano Marti and Leonor Perez. From a young age, he was a great painter, sculptor and artist who realized the versatile techniques. At the age of sixteen, he wrote editorials and wrote songs for local newspapers and spearheaded the struggle for national liberation. His poems and essays were anti-authoritarian and anti-repression liberation. Imprisonment at age 16The struggle against Spanish domination in Cuba began in 1869; Historically it has been called the Decade of War.
