Had the boy and girl waited for a time when they could stand on their own financially, the path of love would have taken a completely different route. The unrealistic political ambitions of the student leader have misled him to a life of authoritarian thinking. One event of treachery has played havoc in their lives. But one saving grace for them was the capability to forgive and love one another as before. The novel begins with the student leader choosing a knife and in the end the destiny of the knife is a different one.
