Ostrów is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Janów Podlaski, within Bia a Podlaska County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland, close to the border with Belarus. It lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) east of Janów Podlaski, 23 km (14 mi) north-east of Bia a Podlaska, and 117 km (73 mi) north-east of the regional capital Lublin. The village has a population of 200. Gmina Janów Podlaski is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Bia a Podlaska County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland, on the border with Belarus. Its seat is the village of Janów Podlaski, which lies approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Bia a Podlaska and 115 km (71 mi) north-east of the regional capital Lublin. The gmina covers an area of 135 square kilometres (52.1 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 5,553.
