Osvaldo Francisco Canobbio Pittaluga (born February 17, 1973 in Montevideo, Uruguay), commonly known as Osvaldo Canobbio, is a footballer who currently plays as a striker. He appeared in several teams from many different countries (including Argentina, Chile and China) and was involved in the 1993 U-20 FIFA World Cup, which was held in Australia. Canobbio started his career in 1988 by joining CA River Plate. By that time the team was in a very difficult situation concerning both sporting and economic matters. Then, after some bad performances, River lost its category and was relegated to Segunda División Uruguay in 1990.
