Otani-ha (J do Shinsh Higashi Honganji) is a Japanese Buddhist movement. It belongs to J do Shinsh . Otani University in Kyoto belongs to Otani-ha. The headquarters of Otani-ha are in Kyoto as well. The mother temple of Otani-ha is Higashi Honganji. The movement belongs to Shin Buddhism. J do Shinsh ("True Pure Land School"?), also known as Shin Buddhism, is a school of Pure Land Buddhism. It was founded by the former Tendai Japanese monk Shinran. Today, Shin Buddhism is considered the most widely practiced branch of Buddhism in Japan.
