From the beginning Ken Luikart paints the picture of a life in the sunny south. "Out of the Comfort Zone From Appalachia to the Atlantic Ocean" is a biography of his life after Vietnam left him damaged.He married in 1971 to Sandra Bardell and attended Lake City Forest Ranger School in Lake City Florida. He graduated and became a Forest Research Technician with Union Camp from 1973 to 1987. In 1975 he joined the Air National Guard as an Intelligence Analyst and was awarded a Direct Commission in 1979 as an Air Intelligence Officer.In 1977 he helped organize and establish Boy Scout Troop 665 in Rincon, Georgia. He was the Troop's Scoutmaster from 1977 to 2014, and still works with the troop as the Committee Member.Ken is a story teller, and decided to write books. He has written two books so far. "The Comfort Zone Growing Up in Appalachia" and "The Uncomfortable Zone Down From the Mountains" are stories about his childhood through Vietnam. This book "Out of the Comfort Zone From Appalachia to the Atlantic Ocean" provides a glimpse of a book filled with humor and stories designed to laugh at ourselves.
