Autorenporträt
Gloria Fox was raised in Ontario, Canada, but moved to New York City as a teenager to study classical piano at the Juilliard School. While at Juilliard, she met Sylvan Fox, a fellow student with whom she would share a wonderful marriage of almost sixty years. Although music remained important to both of them, they pursued other professional goals, he as a distinguished journalist and she as a psychiatric nurse and educator. She continues to work part time in nursing education. They have an adult daughter, Erica. Sylvans career and their love of travel took them to places around the world, including for extended stays in Saigon and Jerusalem. However, they returned to New York in their later years, and Gloria continues to live here today. Gloria began spending more time writing prose and poetry after her husband died in 2007, and went on to write a memoir, One More Time: A Journey or Love and Loss, which was published in 2016. This is her first collection of poems.
